On-site programs include, but are not limited to: woodworking, building maintenance and custodial services. Students also have a chance to participate in our School to Work program which allows students to work in the community while earning school credit. Employability Skills Students will be taught employability skills that are necessary for future success when searching for employment. Emphasis will also include helping students build the social and behavioral skills necessary to be a good employee and navigate through life successfully.
The LEAP program has a functional, highly supervised onsite woodshop. Students are introduced to various shop tools and procedures after passing a series of safety tests. The woodshop promotes academics, functional vocational education, positive work habits, teamwork and building the self-worth of the student. The goal is to attract outside investors or licensing deals. UA has an Office of Technology Transfer OTT , where faculty receive legal and technical advice on filing patents and on intellectual property issues.
